This video shows a performative installation presented at the Ashe Cultural Arts Center in New Orleans in May of 2016. Watch as I create a gradually building, living painting on the bodies of 3 Black women (a painter, a healer and a midwife) as they perform breathing exercises and body movements to bring about a trance state. In this heightened state, we honored and welcomed our ancestors and spirits of the dead.
